You will need to bring the appropriate evidence to your interview.

Your application may not be accepted until you have provided us with all the appropriate information that we have asked for. If you do not bring the evidence with you to your interview, this may delay you going on the housing waiting list.

Please be aware, if you give us false or misleading information, this will delay your application and we could withdraw any offer of accommodation made to you. It is a criminal offence to get an occupation contract based on false or misleading information.

We always need to see originals – we cannot accept photocopies.

You will need to provide one of the following as proof of your identity for yourself and any joint applicant:

  • photo driving licence,
  • passport.

If you do not have either a driving licence or passport, please bring one of the following:

  • birth certificate
  • proof of national insurance number.

If you or any joint applicants do not hold a British Passport and were not born in the UK, you will need to provide:

  • your online status share code.

If you have stated you are homeless, you will need to provide any one of the following relevant to your homeless situation:

  • notice served by your landlord,
  • employer letter confirming proof of tied accommodation,
  • Armed Forces discharge papers.

You will need to provide proof of residence for every household member including children:

For applicant/s and adult household members

Any one of the following documents can be accepted as proof of current residence and should be dated within the last 6 months with the current address on it:

  • household utility bill / mobile phone statement,
  • council tax bill / housing benefit letter,
  • payslip with address,
  • bank / building society statements,
  •  child benefit / Job Seeker’s allowance / pension book,
  • tv licence,
  • car registration documents,
  • correspondence from government department such as DWP, NHS or Borders and Immigration,
  • college / school letter,
  • tenancy agreement (if you signed within the last four weeks).

Proof of residence – children

Any one of the following can be accepted as evidence of residence for children under the age of 16, or aged 16-18 and in full-time education:

  • child benefit letter, dated within the last 4 weeks, with address matching the application address,
  • child benefit letter, more than 4 weeks old, together with the applicant’s most recent bank statement showing the benefit credit and the application address,
  • your latest Universal Credit award letter or screenshots of your Universal Credit journal showing your name & address, entitlement to the child element and the names of the children you receive this for,
  • online proof of entitlement to child benefit via gov.uk.

You will need to provide one of the following as proof of the pregnancy (the estimated due date needs to be visible):

  • maternity certificate – Form MAT B1,
  • ante-natal card.

If you have served in the Armed Forces, you will need to provide proof of one of the following:

  • Armed Forces discharge papers,
  • letter / paperwork from the Armed Forces confirming the anticipated discharge date.

You will need to provide evidence showing your last 2 years address history. Any one of the following documents showing your address can be accepted for local connection:

  • household utility bill / mobile phone statement,
  • council tax bill / housing benefit letter,
  • payslip with address,
  • bank / building society statements,
  • child benefit / Job Seeker’s allowance / pension book,
  • tv licence,
  • car registration documents,
  • correspondence from government department such as DWP, NHS or UK Visas and Immigration,
  • college / school letter,
  • tenancy agreement.

If you have stated you have a dog you will need to provide the following:

  • the dog’s microchip number.
