Evidence for Housing Application

 

To make a housing application you will need to provide the below evidence

You will need to provide one of the following as proof of your identity for yourself and any joint applicant:

 

· Photo driving licence

· Passport


If you do not have a driving licence or passport please bring one of the following:

 

· Birth certificate

· Proof of National Insurance Number

 

You will need to provide all evidence of your immigration status for yourself and/or any joint applicant:


· Your share code if you have applied to the EU Settlement Scheme

· Home Office Letters

· Travel Documents 


You will need to provide evidence relevant to your homeless situation:

 

· Notice served by landlord

· Employer letter confirming proof of tied accommodation

· Armed forces discharge papers

 

You will need to provide proof of residence for EVERY household member including children:

For Applicant/s and Adult Household Members

 

Any one of the following documents can be accepted as proof of current residence and should be dated within the last 6 months with the current address on it:

· Household utility bill /Mobile ‘phone statement

· Council Tax bill / Housing Benefit letter

· Payslip with address

· Bank / Building Society statements

· Child Benefit / Job Seeker’s Allowance / Pension book

· TV Licence

·  Car registration documents

·  Correspondence from Government department such as DWP, NHS or Borders and Immigration

· College / school letter

· Tenancy Agreement (if you signed within the last four weeks)

 

Proof of Residence – children

 

Any one of the following can be accepted as evidence of resident children under the age of 16, or aged 16 – 18 and in full-time education :

 

· Child Benefit letter, dated within the last 4 weeks, with address matching the application address.

· Child Benefit letter, more than 4 weeks old, together with the applicant’s most recent bank statement showing the benefit credit and the application address.

· Child Tax Credit letter with address matching the application address.

 

If you or anyone who is moving with you is pregnant you will need to provide proof:


· Maternity Certificate – Form MAT B1 Ante-natal card

 

We need proof that you have lived in Cardiff continuously for the past 2 years. 

 

You will need to provide evidence showing your last 2 years address history.  Any one of the following documents showing your address can be accepted for local connection:

 

· Household utility bill / mobile phone statement

· Council Tax bill / Housing Benefit letter

· Payslip with address

· Bank / Building Society statements

· Child Benefit / Job Seeker’s Allowance / Pension book TV Licence

· Car registration documents

· Correspondence from Government department such as DWP, NHS or UK Visas and Immigration

· College / School letter Tenancy Agreement
