The scheme is designed to cater for the needs of residents who are aged 60+.
Applicants should be sufficiently able to live independently in their own flat, but are welcome to arrange additional care and support if necessary (for instance to help with cleaning or personal care).
A Scheme Manager is available during office hours from Monday - Friday to provide friendly support with day to day issues and to offer experienced help in an emergency. All flats at Sandown Court are also linked to the Cardiff Community Alarm Service. Tenants can use the alarm at any time (day or night) to summon help in an emergency. A mobile Warden will visit if necessary.
Sandown Court has a number of adaptations to make access easier for all tenants. These include :

Each flat at Sandown Court has its own kitchen and bathroom. Other facilities include :

Social activities are arranged for tenants to take part in if they wish. Some of the activities are also open to members of the local community.

• Local shops (Aldi and Farm Foods a walk away)
• Bus stop (just around the corner)

• Hairdresser (a mobile hairdresser also visits Sandown Court each week)
