Wheatley Road, in the Ely area of Cardiff, has 36 self contained one-bedroom flats in 4 separate blocks. 

The scheme is well served by public transport allowing residents to take advantage of the shops at Culverhouse Cross and further afield as well as the smaller local shops and facilities within walking distance.

Social activities at the scheme include a tea/coffee club where residents meet for a chat and snacks, regular shopping trips, sightseeing trips and meals out.


 

Scheme Criteria

The scheme is designed to cater for the needs of residents who are aged 60+.

Applicants should be sufficiently able to live independently in their own flat, although they may arrange their own additional help and support if necessary (for instance to help with cleaning or personal care).  

Scheme Manager

The Scheme Manager is available during office hours from Monday - Friday to provide a friendly face and offer support and advice in an emergency. 

Who to contact if the Scheme Manager is not available

All flats at Wheatley Road have an alarm which is linked to the Cardiff Community Alarm Service. Tenants can use the alarm at any time (day or night) to summon help in an emergency. A mobile Warden will visit if necessary.
