Poplar House in Whitchurch is a small complex of 16 self contained flats including 12 one-bedroom flats and 4 two-bedroom flats.

Located close to Whitchurch Village with its varied shops and other amenities, residents are able to take advantage of what is on offer locally (including a carvery restaurant across the road) while also being able to participate in on-site events and activities if they wish. The communal lounge has a homely feel and residents are able to enjoy the scheme's gardens with its raised beds - some even grow vegetables.


 

Scheme Criteria

The scheme is designed to cater for the needs of residents who are aged 60+. Applicants should be sufficiently able to live independently in their own flats, although they may arrange their own additional support if necessary (for instance to help with cleaning or personal care).

Scheme Manager

The Scheme Manager is available during office hours from Monday to Friday to offer friendly advice and support with day to day issues and to help in an emergency.

Who to contact if the Scheme Manager is not available

Every flat at Poplar House has an alarm which is linked to the Cardiff Community Alarm Service. Tenants can use the alarm at any time (day or night) to summon help in an emergency. A mobile warden will vist if necessary.
